intro
Hah hah so you've made it here... what's Mamoru doing scratching his eye on the PPcard of yours? It begins after Nephernia had been defeated in SuperS but then came back to exact her revenge, in the SStars arch. A voice (which turns out to be Galaxia) tells Nepherenia that it's s shame to keep such a beauty locked up. Nepherenia had sealed herself in a mirror so she wouldn't age. (Galaxia coaxed Nephernia to "awaken" to make Saturn awaken because she needed all of the starseeds.)
Chibi-usa decided it time for her to go back go home to the future. As she does this Nepherenia recognises the senshi. She shatters her mirror which falls down from the sky. One piece makes it into Mamoru's eye and he flinches. Chibi-usa doesn't make it home because the shards disrupted her time beam. The mirrors that don't land on people become mirror parodies; those silver looking creatures resembling Nepherenia.
In episode 168 Mamoru becomes detached. The sunlight hitting his eye irritates him. His anger toward Usagi reveals that he's not himself. Right afterward he comes back to himself and apologizes saying he needs some rest and he'll be just fine. Oh another symptom is his eye flashing gold. The episode ends with Nepherenia saying something like "I'll take everything you love," and she's talking to herself but refering to Sailormoon. From this point you can be sure that Mamoru is being possessed through the mirror shard by Nepherenia.
In episode 169 he starts to collect mirrors caressing them in the darkness of his apartment. Usagi breaks one of the mirrors (actually she stomps on one) and Mamoru pulls away from her when she tries to kiss his wound while he was collecting the shards. He only gets worse. The senshi rush to his apartment and Sailormoon runs to him because he is caressing a mirror. He slaps her to the shock of both her and Chibi-moon.
Nepherenia makes herself present taking Mamoru into a mirror. She gives Sailormoon an ultimatum saying if she didn't find Mamoru by tommorrow's dawn that he would be hers forever. (Pretty standard stuff.)
Next episode Usagi mopes about and decides to save Mamoru. She goes into Nepherenia's trap and the senshi follow later to save her. The rest of this episode is the capture of Uranus and Mercury and then we see Mars and Neptune beginning their fight. After this is just so cool... Nepherenia is sitting on her throne when she hears something. She turns around and it's Saturn and Chibi-moon and she's being held pointe blank by Saturn's Silence Glaive. (Doncha just love her?)
This all ends in episode 172 when Usagi tells Nepherenia to take out her anger on her and to free the others. Mamoru's shard shatters and the rest of the senshi are released from the mirrors. I cut some stuff out here but Nepherenia awakens as her chibi self asking someone to sing her to sleep and she becomes happy being freed from her loneliness.
